Providence is a Colony exoskeleton, an advanced set of armor manned by a pilot. It is the final boss in Stellar Blade's "Cost of Lost Memories" and "Making New Memories" endings.
Overview[]
"Mother Sphere developed a tactical exoskeleton system for the Airborne Squads, the Providence, for the end of 'A Starry Night'. Combat weapons from generations ago like Belial and Battle Droids were no match for this machine, and its power and purpose very much lived up to its name. One disadvantage was that the safety of the Airborne Squad member on board was not considered at all. Even then, being in the arms of Mother Sphere meant that one's memories could be recovered anytime to shine eternally."
Characteristics[]
Appearance[]
As expected for its function, Providence is a massive war machine clad in black and gray armor and weapons in all facets of its frame. It has manual controls inside its cockpit but can also be controlled remotely, at least by Mother Sphere. It somewhat resembles mecha found in other media like Armored Core and the Gundam franchise.
Powers and abilities[]
Tachyon Blades are placed inside of both arms of the Providence, allowing it to slice and destroy virtually anything. Providence's physical combos using its fists also come out fast and deadly, many of which need to be Blinked and Repulsed in the same string of attacks. Missiles, energy shells, blasters, and other weapons also pour from the machine with frightening precision. When cornered, Providence can fire massive lasers and summon cybernetic wings that must be destroyed immediately or it will instantly kill EVE.
Trivia[]
- Providence refers to the protective care of God or God's intervention in the Universe. Both of which fit the exoskeleton, as Mother Sphere hijacks the mech after EVE fuses with Adam and the exoskeleton is a battle armor for Airborne Squads created by Mother Sphere. However, ironically, the pilot's safety was not considered when Mother Sphere designed it.
- Providence is not a required fight, as it is only able to be fought in the "Cost of Lost Memories" and "Making New Memories" endings by taking Adam's hand.
