The Eve Defense Force or Airborne Squads are the elite heroic faction of Stellar Blade. They are tasked with fighting alien invaders known as Naytibas in an effort to reclaim Earth.
History[]
The Airborne Squads are supersoldiers from the Colony, the name for the network of civilization hubs that surround Earth in a Jupiter Brain-like structure run by Mother Sphere. Through various reveals throughout the game, the Airborne Squads are revealed to actually be Andro-Eidos, artificial beings created by Mother Sphere to look like humans but without human DNA. Because of this, they are cybernetically enhanced to be superior to humans in various aspects, from being able to survive in oxygen-deprived, pressurized environments (such as deep underwater or the vacuum of space) without specialized equipment, living in harmony with mechanical and organic components in their body, and having advanced intellect and fighting skills. There are seven Airborne Squads in total, with EVE's being the latest, though only members from Airborne Squads 2, 5, and 7 are seen in-person in the game.
Equipment[]
Each member from each Airborne Squad seems to use different equipment based on what they specialize in. From EVE's comments in the intro sequence, they are put into extensive training in the Colony to become members, which is most likely where they learn where their specialties lie. It is unknown if these specialties are programmed into them by Mother Sphere or if they arise organically like they would in normal humans. Specialties and weapons include the Blood Edge, Tachyon Blade, Cryo Blade, and support skills like Lily's knowledge on repairing Body Cells. They are also able to tap into the NETWORK, a central intelligence system where Mother Sphere dictates orders and receives progress updates from Airborne Squad members.

- While the diving suits of the 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 7th squads are seen, as well as the prototype, there are 2 others that are seen in-game, the first being the one that dead Airborne Squad members are seen wearing, and the other are the suits worn by Mother's Sphere's squad in two of the game’s endings.
