Altess Levoire is an underground laboratory used by the Humanity Liberation Front prior to the Final War. It was used by human scientists seeking to create a weapon capable of defeating the Andro-Eidos, who in turn sought to wipe out and replace humanity. The experiments that took place within the Levoire are what resulted in the creation of the early Naytibas, which eventually broke out of their containment and took over the facility, mutating the staff into horrible monstrosities, such as Infectors, Defilers, and Maelstroms. By the events of the main game, the Levoire’s facilities fell into heavy disrepair, with the heart of the facility being heavily overtaken by Naytiba corruption.
The entrance to Altess Levoire is located in the Wasteland, and is guarded by Quiel, who determines who can enter via trial by combat. EVE travels to Altess Levoire in order to retrieve the Hyper Cell within in order to power the city of Xion and boost Orcal’s personal link, and additionally learns of humanity’s war against the Andro-Eidos prior to the appearance of the Naytibas through a Legacy left behind by Raven, a member of the 2nd Airborne Squad.
